Upon arrival at Yangon airport by morning or mid-day flight, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After lunch at a local restaurant, your journey in Myanmar begins with an afternoon tour through Yangon’s colonial–style city. Firstly, visit SULE PAGODA; dating back over 2,000 years ago. After a photo stop at the KARAWEIK HALL; a ‘hamsa-bird-shaped’ floating barge on Kandawgyi royal lake, continue visit to the NATIONAL MUSEUM to see the 8-meter high Golden Lion Throne and Mandalay Royal Regalia and the magnificent reclining Buddha at CHAUK HTAT GYI PAGODA. Complete your first day in Myanmar with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments; the SHWEDAGON PAGODA. Dinner is served at a local restaurant. Transfer to hotel and overnight.
After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to airport for early morning domestic flight to BAGAN. Upon arrival, starts visit through the colorful NYAUNG U MARKET and continues visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including SHWEZIGON PAGODA; built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine,and ANANDA TEMPLE; with four standing Buddha’s images. After lunch at a local restaurant, further visits are to MANUHA TEMPLE; built in the Mon style in 1059, NANPAYA TEMPLE; a unique sandstone monument and MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE; a temple noteworthy for its mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. End your day by watching the sunset overlooking through the famous SHWESANDAW PAGODA. Dinner is served at a local restaurant. Transfer to hotel and overnight.
After breakfast, take a morning scenic drive (50 km – 1½ hours) to MOUNT POPA, an extinct volcano and an oasis of this dry central plain. Visit the TAUNG KALAT, a 737-metre volcanic peak with shrines dedicated to “Nats”, the animist spirit still worshiped by many locals. It is said that the mountain is their abode. The energetic, after climbing 777 steps, will be rewarded with a greatly refreshing panorama. A BUDDHIST MONASTERY on the summit can also be visited.En-route visit to the village and observe the daily life of toddy palm climbers.
After lunch at a local restaurant, further visits are to the site of TAYOKEPYAY TMEPLE in Min Nan Thu Village, PHAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA TEMPLES noted for exquisite murals of 13th century, KYAT KAN CAVE MONASTERY; a famous meditation center in Bagan. End the days in Bagan by observing intricate steps of crafting Bagan’s famous LACQUER WARE. After dinner at a local restaurant, return to hotel and overnight.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for early morning domestic flight to MANDALAY. Upon arrival, proceed excursion to AMARAPURA; 11km from Mandalay to visit MAHAGANDAYON MONASTERY where more than a thousand monks live and study. If time still permits, you will there have the opportunity to observe the monks having their last meal of the day in total silence. Continue to 200 years old U BEIN TEAK BRIDGE, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal capital.
After lunch at a local restaurant, continue excursion to INWA(AVA); a historical capital founded by King ThadaMinbya in 1364 covering visits to the 27-meter-high NANMYINT WATCH TOWER, MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN MONASTERY; built of brick and stucco and AVA BAGAYAR MONASTERY; built with 276 teak pillars and famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak poles. Then, proceed to SAGAING HILL; a retreat for Buddhist devotees and the living center of Buddhist faith in Myanmar today. Its hillsides are dotted with numerous pagodas and monasteries. After visit to KAUNGMHUDAW PAGODA, with its huge egg-shaped dome in Ceylonese style, dinner is served at a local restaurant. Check in at hotel in Mandalay and overnight.
Breakfast at hotel. Morning boat trip to MINGUN, just 12km on the west bank upstream from Mandalay. Visit MINGUN PAHTOTAWGYI PAGODA; one of the world's largest chedis built by BodawPaya and the world renowned ringing MINGUN BELLweighing 90 tons. Return to Mandalay. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will also experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including one of the most revered religious monuments in Myanmar, the MAHAMUNI PAGODA; covered with thick layers of gold leaves. Continue to TAPESTRY WORKSHOP, MARBLE CARVINGand BRONZE CARVING WORKSHOPS and the SHWENANDAW KYAUNG or the GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY; a superb traditional wooden building, KUTHODAW PAGODA; known as the world's biggest book with the collection of 729 stone stabs on which are inscribed the whole of the Buddhist scriptures. Visit a traditional gold-leaf workshop before proceeding to MANDALAY HILL for sunset. Dinner is served at a local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for morning domestic flight to HEHO. Then, drive to NYAUNG SHWE (25km – 1h) and en-route visit to SHWE YAN PYAY MONASTERY. Arrive NyaungShwe jetty and board your own local boat to take you around Inle Lake. Boat trip on Inle Lake – a photographer'sDream; its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which scenic high hillsprovide the perfect backdrop. See the lake's unique “LEG ROWERS” – the Intha people row standing up withone leg wrapped around an oar. VisitPHAUNG DAW OO PAGODA, the holiest religious site in southern ShanState. Continue to visit LAE GYAE VILLAGE where Buddha images are made out of saw dusts and see thecentury old monastery. The walk along the village is also nice. Then see traditional handicrafts – SILK WEAVING on wooden handlooms and aBLACKSMITH SHOP. Further visit by boat to NGA PHE KYAUNG MONASTERY, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake. One can see ancient Buddha statues which are more than 200 years old. Boat ride back to the hotel via the floating gardens after dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Inle Lake.
After breakfast, start boat ride to a5-DAY LOCAL MARKET where you will have opportunities to see minorities gathering at a village with their boats every 5th day except full moon day and dark moon day (according to Myanmar Lunar calendar). There, you will have insight into the life-style of the ethnic Pa-O, Danu and Intha inhabitants who came to sell their goods. Continue travel by boat to the village of MINE THAUK on the Eastern Shore of Inle Lake. Start trekking to MINE THAUNK FOREST MONASTERY. The walk-up is easy through this very scenic village. Uphill, there is a nice and open view of the lake under the morning sun. While descending, you may stop awhile at the orphanage for a brief glimpse and walk around the village.
After lunch a local restaurant, enjoy more boat tour around INNDEIN VILLAGE at the western end of the lake. The boat takes you through a long and narrow waterway with both shores covered by reeds and bamboo forest. This is probably one of the most scenic boat rides on the lake. A brief visit of the village to observe the life here. Then, walk up to the ruined TEMPLE COMPLEX, following a stair path lined up with magnificent columns to the top. After dinner at a local restaurant, return to hotel and overnight.
After breakfast, transfer to airport for morning domestic flight to YANGON. Arrive Yangon and visit to KABA AYE (WORLD PEACE) PAGODA and MAHA PASANA GUHA CAVES where the Sixth Buddhist Council took place. Then, we transfer you to the GEMS MUSEUMwith a wide display of Myanmar’s precious stones including jades, rubies, sapphires and natural pearls. After lunch at a local restaurant, stroll through the BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET(closed on Public Holidays) where Myanmar's wide range of handicrafts are available for more shopping. Then, complete the visit in Myanmar by a drive through CHINATOWN area, to see Yangon’s oldest CHINESE TEMPLE and to take a glimpse of Yangon’s RIVERFRONT LIFE. After dinner at a local restaurant, transfer to hotel and overnight
After breakfast, transfer to airport for morning international flight. Or the morning is at leisure until transfer to airport if the departure international flight is in the afternoon or evening.
