Beaches & Others

Myanmar owned a long coastline of Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, from the west end in Rakhine State to the southernmost tip of Kawthaung in Tanintharyi Division. Among its many beaches, Ngapali and Ngwe Saung, situated on the western coast on the Bay of Bengal, are the world class beaches that appeal the international travelers. Except during monsoon months, the two beaches are fully operational from October through May.

Unlike other beaches in Asia that you have been before, Ngapali & Ngwe Saung simply attracts world travelers with its natural white sand and unspoiled beauty. You enjoy the highest privacy at both beaches as there are neither noisy beachside bars nor shops to disturb you. All you have to do is just relax, enjoy the sun, sand & sea, and rejuvenate yourself.

Ngapali Beach and Ngwe Saung Beach cordially invites you “To discover the beauty, To feel the difference!”

A name admired by all the beach lovers! For international travelers, Ngapali usually fits as a total soothing destination after energetic upcountry tours. Just a 45-minutes flight away from Yangon, you are at the paradise hidden in Rakhine State.

By road, it takes about 14 hours to drive along the narrow, winding, dusty and bumpy road over the Rakhine Yoma (mountain range). We thus strongly recommend flight. During the season, from October to May, daily flights operate from Yangon. On certain days, direct link available from Bagan, Mandalay, Heho and Sittwe.

Ngapali is a series of beaches stretches about 3 km and interspersed with small fishing villages. Rather than enjoying the sea, you can choose activities like fishing, horseback riding, playing golf at the nearby 9-hole golf course, cycling along the beach, or exploring the fishing villages around by bicycle or by car. Fishing boats can be hired for trips to some of the islands off the coast or just for fishing at nearby reefs.

Accommodation wise, Ngapali offers a wide range of choices. Ngapali’s international standard hotels are endeavoring to satisfy visitors with local taste while providing modern-day amenities. Also, locally-managed private guest houses are at your service if you opt for strong local hospitality.

This young and untouched beauty is one of the most pleasant beaches of Myanmar serving as a major hideaway for expatriates and locals, especially during Myanmar Water Festival. Located about 48 km south of Pathein, the beach can be reached within 5 hours drive from Yangon.

Its white sandy beach stretches 15 km along the blue sea trimming with thousands of coconut trees. Its unspoiled surroundings never fail to enchant the visitors. Ngwe Saung has its own special and natural charms.

Along with its popularity, international standard hotels are starting to develop at Ngwe Saung Beach. Now, choices of accommodation are available to meet your delight. While providing modern day comfort, most hotels are offering traditional flavor.

Off The Beaten Path

After long closing, Myanmar has opened its door to the outside world for a little more than just a decade. Although known to many visitors as the cultural destination, every now and then, and gradually, various unexplored areas in Myanmar are opened to tourism and has gained much attention. Rich in natural charms, greater in topography, arcane and unspoiled in ethnic traditions, many of these areas are highly fascinated by more and more visitors. Due to the fact that most of these areas are not easily accessible and still not developed in most aspect of tourism, such beautiful & wild destinations remains mysterious. That, on the other hand, is the paradise for adventurers. Among the frequently quested are,
- Snow Land
- Arakan Yoma
- Minority Villages
- Chin Hills
- Archipelagos
Special permission is required to visit those areas. For explorers who set their hearts to discover secrets of such remote places, we are offering all necessary assistance. We closely cooperate with native experts, so that our travelers make the most of special journeys.

Snow Land

In the whole of South East Asia, all year-round snow-capped peaks can only be seen in Kachin State of Myanmar. The highest snow cover peaks and icy cold water courses results a different ecosystem here. Let alone the lush valleys, undisturbed wilderness in the dense forest, strong river, steep mountain path, rare species of flora & fauna, there are some forgotten tribes spending their lives the same primitive way many centuries back. This destination is truly a heaven for world adventurers.

The major town and base for touring this area is Putao, the northernmost town of Myanmar, only accessible by air. Literally, the area is untouched by tourism until recently when Malikha Lodge is opened and Air Bagan has scheduled its routine to the area. From Myitkyina, the capital of Kachin State, Putao can be reached by 40 minutes flight.

Thanks to Malikha Lodge, we are now able to offers more comfortable & safer option of tours around Putao. This carefully designed adventure resort offers great accommodation, choice of programs for white water rafting and trekking adventures.

For hikers and mountaineers to the snow land, some careful planning is required. Best selected route is the peak of Phonkanrazi towering some 3,500 meters above sea level. A hike up a mountain of this size is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Once decided to go for this adventure, one should be prepared for demands of both physical and mental challenges.

With limited transport options available, the return trek takes a considerable amount of time. In addition to the assistance of mountaineering experts, we also need to work very closely with native tribes. Set aside the rewarding mountain views and friendly villagers; be proud that your spending becomes support for development of local communities.
